Richmond Christian School is seeking an Associate Director of Learning – Inclusive Education to join our Educational Leadership Team. This role provides key leadership in strengthening inclusive education practices across our K–12 community, ensuring that all students are supported to learn, grow, and thrive.

Position Summary

The Associate Director of Learning – Inclusive Education provides system-level leadership for inclusive education across Richmond Christian School. Working closely with Inclusive Education Coordinators, Principals, and the Educational Leadership Team, this role supports the alignment, sustainability, and continuous improvement of inclusive practices grounded in Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and responsive instruction.
This position ensures that inclusive education programs and services align with Ministry of Education requirements, best practices, and school policies. The Associate Director provides oversight of inclusive education structures, documentation, and funding processes; supports consistent and meaningful IEP development and implementation; and mentors Inclusive Education Coordinators and staff.
The role also contributes to staffing processes related to Educational Assistants and Inclusive Education, supports student referrals and services, and helps build school-wide capacity to effectively support diverse learners.

Reports To: Director of Learning and Formation and Principals
Department: Educational Leadership Team
Employment Type: Part-Time (0.3 FTE), 12-Month, Continuing
Salary Range: $39,000–$39,400 annually, plus benefits as per policy
 

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership and Vision

• Provide strategic leadership for inclusive education across K–12
• Support the development and implementation of inclusive education priorities, including UDL, MTSS, and competency-based IEPs
• Promote consistency and coherence of inclusive practices across campuses
• Collaborate with the Educational Leadership Team to align inclusive education with broader school learning goals

Administrative and Operational Leadership

• Develop and manage the Inclusive Education budget in collaboration with school leadership and finance
• Prepare reports and documentation for school leadership and the Board as required
• Oversee Ministry of Education documentation, reporting, and funding requirements, including 1701 reporting
• Remain current with Ministry policies, funding requirements, and best practices
• Coordinate contracts with external service providers (e.g., Psychology, Speech-Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy)
• Support access to assistive technology and external supports

Inclusive Education Staffing and Capacity Building

• Provide leadership, mentorship, and support for Inclusive Education Coordinators
• Collaborate with school leadership to identify staffing needs and priorities
• Support hiring and staffing processes for Educational Assistants and Inclusive Education staff
• Develop and maintain structures that support Educational Assistant growth and effectiveness, including professional learning and evaluation processes

Collaboration and Student Support

• Support referral, assessment, and documentation processes for students with diverse learning needs
• Coordinate access to external assessments and services
• Support the development and implementation of behaviour support plans
• Ensure appropriate supports and documentation for provincial assessments
• Support student transitions between campuses
 

Qualifications & Skills

• Teaching experience required; leadership or administrative experience preferred
• Strong background in inclusive education across elementary, middle, and secondary levels
• Master’s Degree in Special Education, Educational Leadership, Education, or related field preferred
• Experience with Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) preferred
• Knowledge of BC Curriculum, Ministry policies, and funding requirements
• Experience designing and leading professional development
• Strong communication, organizational, and relational skills
• Demonstrated collaborative leadership, integrity, flexibility, and discretion
• Personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ
• Alignment with the RCS Statement of Faith
